Sergeant Gary R. Wagers

Sergeant Gary Wagers was traveling northbound on State Route 113 near Woodland and was engaged in an enforcement activity. His vehicle skidded sharply across two lanes, striking a guardrail. Wagers was killed upon impact. A commuter discovered the crash at approximately 6:00 a.m. Sergeant Wagers had been a member of the Patrol for 22 years, and was 54 years of age. He was also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve.
