As you can imagine, New Year’s Eve is a busy time for CHP. Some of the more notable stories of the last week include:
- A holiday DUI enforcement crackdown resulting in 481 DUI arrests in 30 hours (!)
- A traffic stop that exposes a DUI, cannabis, and a smuggled infant spider monkey
- The arrest of an Oakland man for the 2023 murder of his wife on I-580
- Officers rescue a dog hit by a car, fighting for his life, & reunite Franklin with his family
